El Dorado Single Still Versaille Rum
Rum
About This Rum
The 18th Century estate at Plantation Versailles, then owned by the French family L’Amirault, was one of the smallest distilleries producing both uncoloured and golden rums. Although one of the smallest rum producers then, the distillery, situated on the west bank of the Demerara River. Was famous for its golden rums(marque REV, a reverse of VER for Versailles). Distilled in small batches on the Single Wooden Pot Still, these rums were aged for 12 years in oak barrels. This steep heritage continues with the 2006 distillate – the first from the refurbished wooden vat after its relocation to Plantation Diamond. This 2018 Single still release of REV celebrates the smooth chocolately palate of a fine aged rum.
Tasting Notes
Experts described it as possessing a rich aroma of sweet cigar smoke, an initial taste of smoky tobacco with a roasted cinnamon apple finish.
